Brian Kelley is a singer, songwriter, and was half of the duo Florida Georgia Line. As a solo artist, he continues to perform and is a leading figure in the bro country scene.
Coming from Ormond Beach, he met Tyler Hubbard in 2008 and the two formed Florida Georgia Line. After playing in venues around Tennessee for a few years, they released an EP in 2010 which attracted the attention of music producer Joey Moi. Working with Moi, the two released It’z Just What We Do in 2012 and released their smash hit “Cruise.” “Cruise” became the first country song to ever be Diamond certified and charted at number one for twenty-four weeks straight.
Building on this success, the two released three more albums over the next few years and produced songs such as “Get Your Shine On,” “Round Here,” “Stay,” and “Dirt.” They also collaborated with big artist such as Tim McGraw, Ziggy Marley, The Backstreet Boys, and most famously Bebe Rexha on their 2017 hit “Meant to Be.” After this, the two continued to work together until 2022 where they stated that Florida Georgia Line would take an indefinite hiatus.
Before the hiatus was announced, Brian had already begun his own solo career in 2021 with an EP and album in 2021. Moving to Big Machine Records in 2022, he has released a few singles and his second solo album Trucks, Ducks, Bucks, & Beer in 2024.
While he adds in and changes instruments in his solo work, Brian’s sound is still defined by a mixture of country music and pop, combined with the lyrical tendencies of those found in bro country repertoire.
